Walking With Our students

Last year we launched Hildegard’s Polymath Society. This is a monthly giving program where members of the community set up a donation that recurs each month.

Our Polymath Society members were invited to Hildegard’s end-of-the-year celebration, where we honored our founding students as they completed the first year of the undergraduate program. At that celebration, I described what these students had done in one year:

Our students read 45 books, consisting of approximately 7,300 pages of ethics, theology, history, literature, economics, rhetoric, and scripture. In total, they logged over 400 hours of discussion. Meanwhile they began laying the foundation for their entrepreneurial education.

But the Great Books, the faculty, and the hundred hours of discussion are only the template. What made this such a truly rewarding year was the dedication of the students. These are young adults who chose a different path. They chose to attend a brand new college that asks much more of them than most universities. It requires real accountability. And none of them could persevere unless their sight was set on the Word of God himself, the truth that sets us free.

Through their generosity, Members of The Polymath Society walk with our students month-by-month. Their monthly gifts go directly to the classroom. They enable us to keep classes radically small and to teach through mentorship, to use real books instead of textbooks, and to introduce students to the world of entrepreneurship through hands-on work with real organizations.

Together, those who contribute to The Polymath Society have an essential impact on the work of Hildegard College, especially in these early years.

I invite you to set up a monthly recurring gift. You can discontinue your recurring contribution at any time. But as we look to our second year of training entrepreneurially minded young adults in great ideas and redemptive work, we appeal to you to partner with us by joining The Polymath Society.

Signing up is simple: visit https://hildegard.givingfuel.com/the-polymath-society for details. And for any questions, contact me at advancement@hildegard.college

With Gratitude for your help,
