'The Mirror Held Up to Nature:’ What It Means to Be Human in Shakespeare’s Hamlet: A Readers Theatre Event
Literature lovers, thespians, theatre enthusiasts, and avid readers alike are invited to gather together for Hildegard's first readers theatre event.
Widely considered one of Shakespeare's tragic masterworks, Hamlet provides a rich tapestry of language, a brilliant and memorable ensemble cast of characters, and profound explorations of human nature, life and death, action vs. inaction, appearance vs. reality, and so much more.
Experience this classic as we read it aloud together and break at intervals to notice ourselves reflected in the text. No prior experience with Shakespeare is required, but be prepared to read multiple parts, think deeply, and have fun!
Hildegard's Great Work Seminars are open to all ages, backgrounds, and education levels. Read a book we mail to you in advance (though in this case NO prior preparation is required!), then join our community for a spirited evening of discussion, food, and fellowship.
Prospective students and their families are encouraged to attend these seminars as an introduction to Hildegard's campus, community, and educational model. Email admissions@hildegard.college for a one-time FREE access code!

Becoming Solid People: Human Nature & Free Will in C.S. Lewis’ The Great Divorce

Following in the thematic footsteps of predecessors like Dante Alighieri, C.S. Lewis explores human nature, the will, and the choice between Heaven and Hell in this allegorical ride to the afterlife.
